MaxFunCon is hosted by the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, a lodge-style resort that's been in operation since the early 1920s.

Venue

The center is set just off beautiful Lake Arrowhead, a secluded mountain lake about two hours east of Los Angeles. Extensive facilities include sports fields and courts, an outdoor swimming pool and indoor hot tub, a 24-hour fitness center, a network of beautiful craftsman lodges and even a treehouse, zen deck and "frontier village."

At over 5,000 feet elevation, you’ll enjoy the crisp mountain air in the morning as you dine on a delicious buffet meal out on the deck. If it gets too chilly, you can cozy up with your coffee by the fireplace in the main lodge. Gourmet food is cooked on site, and all accommodations, meals, drinks (including alcoholic beverages at select events) are included in your conference registration. Please note that the UCLA conference center is a non-smoking facility.

Accommodations

Guests stay in vintage chalets, beautiful mountain lodges with two bedroom areas, two bathrooms and a fireplace in every living room. The two-story chalets have differing setups, but you will be sharing your chalet with at least one other MaxFunCon attendee—up to two, if the folks in the other room are a couple who purchased a Shared Bed ticket. The two bedrooms, or the downstairs section and upstairs loft, will each have a queen bed and their own personal bathroom, but the bedrooms may not have doors. All chalets share a common area, and in some the air space between the downstairs and upstairs loft is open. You will have to be comfortable sharing living space with another MaxFunster for the weekend. If you know someone else attending, we recommend requesting to share a chalet with that person and we’ll be happy to accommodate that request. Otherwise, we’ll match you with a roommate based on a questionnaire you fill out at checkout and will introduce you via email if you choose that option.

If you have any questions about lodging, please contact us. Unfortunately due to the number of guests anticipated at this final MaxFunCon, we cannot accommodate requests to room by yourself. Please factor this information into your decision to make the choice that is comfortable to you.
